It hits me hard and steals my breath…
Too painful to stay above the clouds…
The rain and the wind push me down…
Unable to move, in my tears I drown…
I feel your arms wrap around me tightly…
through the thunder I hear your voice…
I hear you whisper “I’ll keep you safe”…
The lightning strikes as you kiss my face…
You offer me love, peace and faith…
Every touch mends my heart…
You lift me up and hold me high…
As your love dries the tears from my eyes…
With my hand firmly in yours…
We share love’s gaze of wonder..
The rain clears and the storm rolls away..
as the sun promises us each a brighter day…
